Phone Message: Flu Update

We're sending a phone call to all of our students and staff this evening with a brief flu update. The text of the message is as follows:

You probably have heard reports that the H1N1 flu is widespread in 48 states, including Massachusetts. At this time, we are seeing an elevated number of absences in all of our schools. We continue to work closely with the Board of Health, and our head nurse is in frequent contact with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to insure that we are following all of the proper procedures.

I want to emphasize that students and staff members who are experiencing a fever along with a cough or sore throat should not come to school and must remain out of school until they are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of medication. We’ll provide you with further updates as needed.
