Strategies for Parents and Teachers of Children with Learning Disabilities

The Woburn Special Education Parents Advisory Council invites you to "Strategies for Parents and Teachers of Children with Learning Disabilities ". The workshop will be held on Thursday November 19th from 7 - 9 P.M in the School Committee Room at the Joyce Middle School.  The presentation will focus on how current knowledge about learning disabilities can guide parents and teachers working with children with special learning needs. Topics will include strategies for disabilities affecting academic skills, attention, and executive functioning. Joan Axelrod is a psycho-educational diagnostician in private practice in Lexington, MA. She provides consultation to school districts on curriculum, programming and assessments for students with disabilities. We are fortunate to have Dr. Axelrod as a consultant this year to our elementary learning disabilities programs. In her private practice she also conducts evaluations and consults with families and private school programs. Please join us for this informative presentation.
