WMHS Winterfest Concert–2009
Last night, I had the pleasure of attending the Winterfest concert at Woburn Memorial High School. Mr. Robert Hodgson, Director of Fine Arts, introduced the program by telling the audience that this year's program was the 45th consecutive peformance of Winterfest. During the intermission, I asked the very energetic Mr. Hodgson how many years he's been involved in this concert. It did not surprise me when he said that he has been there for all 45 performances. Mr. Hodgson, who will be retiring at the end of this year, is one of the truly remarkable people we have as a member of the Woburn Public Schools community.
The large audience in attendance was treated to performances by the Show Choir, the Tanner Marching Band Drum Line, the Colorguard, the Concert Choir, and the Concert Band. Mr. Hodgson directed the choir performances, while the instrumental portions of the program were directed by Mr. John Tully. The amount of talent included in the program was amazing. I want to express my thanks to everyone who participated in any way to produce this excellent program.
