Early Childhood Program
The mission of the Early Childhood Program (ECP) is to welcome and support Woburn children ages 3-5 years by September 1st, with and without disabilities. Our goal is to build a strong foundation based on school readiness, social and emotional, communication, and motor skills. We strive to provide a safe learning environment where students develop confidence, establish peer relationships, increase independent skills, and be an active participant in an early childhood classroom.
Check out our Program Guide for more detailed information about Woburn’s Early Childhood Program.
The Early Childhood Program classrooms are staffed by licensed special education teachers. Dedicated occupational and physical therapists, school psychologists, speech and language pathologists, board certified behavior analysts, orientation & mobility, vision, and augmentative alternative communication consult to the program.
The Early Childhood Program will conduct Developmental Screenings on a monthly basis. If you have concerns about your child’s development, a screening is recommended. You will be provided with a time and location for your child’s screening appointment.
Any child can participate in an Early Childhood Screening, but screening is no longer mandatory to participate as a neighborhood peer in the Early Childhood Program. Please contact the ECP Administrative Assistant, Brenda Farren at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule a screening for your child.
In addition to servicing Special Education Students, Woburn’s Early Childhood Program welcomes Neighborhood Peers on a tuition basis. Click HERE for program details. The program is scheduled in half-day sessions. Children applying as neighborhood peers will be scheduled in either the AM or PM session (times listed below).
AM Session: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday** 8:30am to 11:00am
PM Session: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday** 11:50am to 2:20pm
** There is NO SCHOOL for preschoolers on Wednesdays

Classroom placement for Neighborhood Peers is established on a first come first serve basis once your child is fully registered and the deposit check has been received. Applications are accepted and processed any time after January 1st for the following school year based on available space. Late registrations (after school has begun) will be reviewed for placement at set intervals during the school year and peers will be placed into classes if space is available at these times.

The tuition for the ECP program is $3,000 for the year. For your convenience, the tuition is divided into 10 equal payments of $300 per month from September 1 through June 1, and is not based on the number of session days offered each month.
A $100 registration fee is due at the time of registration and must be received before your child is placed in a classroom. All registration paperwork must also be submitted prior to class placement. The $100 registration fee goes toward the purchase of classroom supplies for the school year.
The first payment is due on September 1st and on the 1st of every month thereafter, through June 1st. A $25 late fee/returned check fee may be assessed for late payments.
A 10% ($300) discount is offered if the year is paid in full ($3,000) by August 1st.
