FERPA
FERPA or the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act is a federal law that affords parents the right to have access to their children’s education records, the right to seek to have the records amended, and the right to have some control over the disclosure of personally identifiable information from the education records. If you do not want Woburn Public Schools to disclose any or all of the types of information designated below as directory information from your child’s education records without your prior written consent, you must notify the school in writing by October 1 of the current school year.

Massachusetts Student Privacy Alliance
Woburn Public Schools is a member of the Massachusetts Student Privacy Alliance (MSPA). The Alliance is a collaboration of MA school districts that share common concerns around student privacy. Member districts utilize shared data privacy contracts with vendors to ensure common expectations and adherence to state and federal privacy laws.
